I and my team commenced a special initiative in which we reach out to children from poor places in the city of Quito. We go out on in the morning on Saturdays.

Usually these children come from destroyed homes, have separated parents whilst for others, their parents are in prison and they have no one to take care of them.

Our motivation is the empathy that we feel in our hearts, knowing these kids are the “leaders of tomorrow”. So we have taken a stand to ensure they have and enjoy a brighter future irrespective of their family background.

Now we have about 40 children we are actively involved with, to transform their lives. We do all this through puppets, dynamics, games and other activities and through these mediums most of the children now have a gleeful smile on their faces.

Presently, we visit with them on the last Saturday of each month but we are working on something more permanent so that within a month we can create a more structured platform to constantly influence their lives positively.

Whilst walking through a certain location in Berlin sometime ago, I discovered there were several young ladies parading themselves as call girls (prostitutes) to all kinds of men.

This broke my heart because I thought to myself; these are ladies with potential just like me who could do much better in life, if only they have the right information. So I made a personal commitment to visit there every Friday to interact with these beautiful ladies and change their mindset, perhaps I may be able to convince them to do otherwise.

At the initial stage, I faced a lot of resistance, no one was willing to listen to me, but I kept at it. Interestingly, many of them began to confide in me as they noticed I seem to have the exact words that affected their emotions and got them to have a re-think of their actions. Since then, there have been lots of transformation, several of those I have spoken with and shared a word of encouragement have ceased to continue with this wayward life but rather to find a proper job and put their creative abilities to work.

I am very excited that I was able to make a difference.
